# How scrapping your car with us works

## The four steps

1. Quote: submit the registration, make, model, condition and postcode at https://scrapacarscotland.com/quote, or call 0330 123 0112.
2. Book: agree a collection date. Most areas of Scotland are covered within a day or two.
3. Collection: the driver checks the vehicle against the quote, takes the V5C log book and confirms your identity.
4. Payment and paperwork: bank transfer on the day, DVLA notified by us, and a Certificate of Destruction issued.

## What to have ready

- V5C log book if you have it. A vehicle can still be scrapped without one, but tell us in advance.
- Photo ID matching the registered keeper.
- Keys, and clear access to the vehicle for the transporter.
- Remove personal belongings and any private registration you want to keep before collection.
