Motorhomes are awkward to dispose of. They are too big for a domestic skip, too damaged to sell, and most scrap yards do not have the equipment to move a seven-metre coachbuilt off a driveway. We do.
Water ingress is what finishes most of them. Once damp has reached the floor and walls, the repair bill routinely exceeds the vehicle's value, and the honest answer is to weigh it in and recover what the chassis and running gear are worth.

Why motorhome disposal needs a licensed facility
A motorhome is not just a vehicle - it contains a gas system, a leisure battery, a fridge that may hold refrigerant, a chemical toilet and a fresh and waste water system. All of that has to be depolluted properly before the shell is processed.
That is exactly what an Authorised Treatment Facility is licensed to do. Dumping a motorhome with an unlicensed operator risks the whole thing being abandoned somewhere with your name still on the V5C.
Access and collection
Tell us the overall length, the height and whether it is on a driveway, a storage compound or a farm field. Coachbuilts often need a larger transporter than a car, and storage sites usually need gate access arranged in advance.
If the unit has not moved for years, expect flat tyres and seized brakes. That is routine and does not affect the price.
Before we collect
Empty the water tanks and the toilet cassette, remove any gas bottles (we cannot transport full cylinders), and take out anything you want to keep - awnings, solar panels, bike racks, TVs and cooking equipment are all worth more to you than to the crusher.
Frequently asked questions
- Is a water-damaged motorhome worth anything?
- Yes. The chassis, engine, gearbox, axles and catalytic converter still carry value regardless of what the habitation area looks like, and coachbuilts are heavy vehicles.
- Do I need to remove the gas bottles?
- Yes. We cannot transport full LPG cylinders. Remove them before collection and return them to your supplier or a licensed disposal point.
- Can you collect from a storage compound?
- Yes, but arrange gate access and let us know the site's opening hours when you book. Many compounds require the keyholder to be present.
- Do you take touring caravans as well?
- Yes, where access allows. Tell us the length and whether it can be towed or needs winching onto the transporter.
- Will I get a Certificate of Destruction for a motorhome?
- For anything with a V5C, yes - it is treated exactly like any other end-of-life vehicle and the DVLA record is closed. Untaxed touring caravans have no DVLA record to close.
- Do I need to empty the water and waste tanks first?
- Please do where you can. It is safer to move and it stops waste water spilling during the lift, though we can still collect if the tanks are seized or inaccessible.
- Can you collect a motorhome from a storage yard or campsite?
- Yes, but we need the site owner's permission and the access height and width in advance so we send a transporter that can physically reach the pitch.
- Is the habitation gas system a problem?
- No. Gas bottles should be removed and handed over separately, and the fixed system is depolluted safely at our licensed facility.
